Bucharest, May 5th 2017. Alina Damaschin, Creative Leader and Managing Partner at Rogalski Damaschin Public Relations represents Romania in the Cannes PR Lions panel of juries, announces Cannes Lions Romania, local agency of the famous festival of creativity.

In 2017, Romania received access to several judging categories, for the shortlist assessments, but PR is the only category for which we have a representative in the Cannes panel of juries to select the winners. The list of proposals for PR also included Cohn & Jansen and Geometry Global, both agencies receiving the Gold in this category, for the past couple of years. I recommended Alina Damaschin not only for the exceptional career path in both classic advertising and creative PR, but also for the results of the agency she represents, with the Gold award received at 2016 Lions Entertainment, for a case in which they handled the creative public relations part”, stated Teodora Migdalovici, Cannes Lions Ambassador in Romania.

It is the second time in the agency’s ten years of activity when one of its representatives is invited to be part of the jury panel at the Cannes Lions Festival, after 2009’s premiere, when Eliza Rogalski, founder of the company, was the first Romanian jury at Cannes Lions.

Cannes Lions is ground zero of global creativity and has been an inspiration for generations of professionals, for the past 63 years. In my 19 years of career, I have always looked forward for June, when the festival takes place; I’ve followed the trends debated at the festival, admired or criticised winning campaign, I have learnt something new with each new edition. The learning experience continues in 2017, from the jury perspective. It is a unique and, at the same time, a double privilege: I can talk about the standards of Romanian creativity with an international jury, which is an indisputable authority in the industry, and I bring home some valuable lessons”, stated Alina Damaschin.

Karen van Bergen, CEO of Omnicom Public Relations Group, USA, will chair the jury of the Cannes Lions PR category. Alina Damaschin will judge a few hundred PR campaigns of famous brands and companies, assessing creativity, originality, as well as impact of the campaigns on the consumers and society. In 2012, Alina was also a jury at Eurobest, the most important festival of creativity in Europe.

With 19 years of experience in communication, Alina Damaschin is currently one of the best known and most appreciated professionals in Romania. After years of advertising, working for agencies such as D’Arcy, Saatchi & Saatchi and Lowe, where she coordinated dozens of projects of integrated communication for international and local brands, Alina chose a career in PR, first as a Managing Director, then as a partner at Rogalski Damaschin Public Relations. On this position, she has created and coordinated award-winning campaigns, acknowledged at the most important industry festivals in the world: Cannes Lions, Effie, Digital Communication Awards, SABRE and European Excellence. Alina has an MBA in Communication and Leadership, at Quadriga University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.

This year’s edition of the largest creativity festival in the world attracts not only professionals in the industry, but also famous names in the global movie, music and entertainment industry. Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Ian McKellen, Jessica Alba and Alicia Silverstone are a few of the celebrities to take the stage at Cannes.
